The sanitary ware manufacturer Royal Sphinx in Maastricht will cut 261 of its jobs under a restructuring programme, Sphinx management said on 17 December 2004. Currently, Sphinx employs some 450. The company has been facing difficulties with the competition from the low-wage countries and needs a significant restructuring in order to ensure the future.
