Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The crisps manufacturer Flodor (owned by the Italian group Unichips) has announced on Friday 24 December 2004 it will cut 132 jobs at its Péronne manufacture. In 2002, Flodor had already shed 80 jobs. Unichips is willing to keep the manufacture running but needs to reduce the volume produced and create new products adapted to the specific capacities of the site.
