Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Iittala Group has announced that it will start rationalisation negotiations with union representatives at the ceramics factory of Rörstrand in Lidköping. The ground for the negotiations is the closure of the ceramics production and the Iittala Distribution Centre. The rationalisation negotiations will involve totally 155 persons in production, administration and the distribution centre. The factory of Rörstrand has been unprofitable in almost each of the 14 years that it has been owned by Iittala. Since 1995, it has made a total loss of 17,0 million euros.
