Description
German glass producer Interpane Glas Industrie AG plans to cut 140 of its 1,055 jobs as part of a cost-cutting programme currently underway, Interpane CEO Bernd Kramer said on 8 December 2004. Kramer did not rule out possible layoffs. In view of the ongoing crisis in Germany's construction sector, Interpane forecast a 5 per cent annual drop in demand for glass for 2005. Through the job cuts, which will also affect the main plant in the western German city of Lauenfoerde, Interpane seeks to save some €5 million.
