Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Sidel, subsidiary of Tetra Laval, specialised in manufacturing packaging equipment for liquid foods, will cut 15% of its worldwide employees. The first sites to be affected by this restructuring will be São Paulo (Brazil) and Bradenton (Florida). French sites of Le Havre and Octeville-sur-mer will lose a total of 183 employees.
In April 2005, the tribunal canceled the restructuring decision. Sidel management is currently discussing new measures to adapt the costs to the workforce in its activities.
