Description
The University Hospital in Martin is one of the Slovak hospitals suffering for budget deficit. In order to reduce its financial problems, the management announced the redundancy of 280 employees, of which 180 are doctors and nurses. The work of Slovak nurses is appreciated also abroad and they have a chance to get job e.g. in the UK and Ireland. According to the Hospital’s Director, the staff reduction is necessary in order to be competitive in the region without reduction of the quality of health services provided.
