Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Siltronic, the German manufacturer of silicon wafers, is planning to cut around 300 jobs in the field of administration in Germany. In particular, the company's site in Burghausen is expected to be affected. The reason for the plans is that there has been a sharp decline in business on the semiconductor markets. The company claims its will to avoid redundancies if possible.
