The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Mobile phone company mmO2 is creating 800 jobs at its call centres operations in Bury and Leeds to deal with its increasing number of customers. The company plans to hire an extra 300 people in Leeds by May 2005. The new jobs come as the company moves its 3,000 customer services staff, located in two separate buildings in the area, into new facilities in the Arlington Business Centre. Meanwhile in Bury - where O2 is now the largest employer - it is creating a further 500 jobs as it increases capacity at its customer support call centre.
