Description
Trelleborg will cease its tyre manufacturing activities at its Trelleborg facility. It is estimated that 200 workers will be affected by this plan (130 manual workers and 70 administrative employees). The background to the decision is the diminishing market for the type of agricultural tyres manufactured in Trelleborg and the strongly increasing competition from low-cost countries. Negotiations with trade unions have already started. Assuming that these negotiations are successful, production will continue until the end of 2005.
