German cement producer HeidelbergCement AG, parent company of the Dutch cement factory ENCI, announced the cut of 270 jobs in the Netherlands. ENCI has a total 1,200 employees in the Netherlands, of whom some 600 work in the company's cement division. ENCI will close its stony oven in Maastricht. ENCI's grinding unit, active in the production of cement, will continue operating. The seven production facilities of the grinding unit in the Netherlands and Belgium will remain operational.
