General Motors, the worldwide car manufacturer, has a plant in Figueruelas (Zaragoza Province, Aragon, Spain). In the framework of its European restructuring, involving 12,000 redundancies, it is believed the company will cut 618 jobs in the Figueruelas production plant. On 17 November the company has presented a job reduction plan for 503 of its workers and has the intention to create up to 618 redundancies with indirect measures as announced by the regional authorities. The job reduction plan needs to be agreed by the labour representatives as well as by the regional authorities.
