Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Note, one of Scandinavia's leading contract manufacturers of electronics, has decided to give notice to 195 employees at the company's plants in Norrtälje, Lund and Borås and to strengthen its activities and hire new staff for its materials management and purchasing functions in Central Europe. Note is currently refining its business model by handling high-value technology-intensive services locally, i.e. in Sweden, and concentrating the production mainly in Central Europe. According to the CEO of the company, this adaptation will allow the company to keep up with its commitments in Sweden in terms of both investment and staffing.
