Klaxon, producer of equipment for cars, subsidiary to the Italian FIAMM, has announced on 10 September 2004 183 job cuts. 161 jobs out of a total of 192 will be shed on the production site of Evreux (Eure) and 22 out of 66 on the site of Aubergenville (Yvelines). For economical reasons, the company will delocalise the production of horns in New Delhi (India) and radio antennas in the Czech Republic. 39 of the threatened jobs could be maintained in a logistical base in Evreux.
