European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
A/S Vestfrost in Esbjerg manufactures and sell refrigerators and freezers worldwide. Decreasing sales in 2004 resulted in September 2004 in the redundancy of 245 employees, mostly unskilled workers. Unions (SiD and KAD) are disappointed since they concluded an agreement with the management earlier in the same year about varying weekly working time in order to avoid redundancies.
