Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Plans were announced yesterday for a £50 million leisure complex in the West Midlands which could create more than 3,000 jobs. ‘The complex will create jobs for over 1,000 local people in a range of employment categories from waiting staff to accounting and marketing. We estimate that the complex will create a further 2,000 indirect and induced jobs.' The complex, which includes proposals for an 80-bed hotel and new homes, would be operational by 2007.
