Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
A leading Kent-based finance firm Cabot Financial, has opted to open a new call centre in Bradford after examining options in India. Cabot Financial, a market leader in the debt purchase business, has chosen the Listerhills Science Park for the new development. As the India Times article comments ‘the new call centre in Bradford is expected to create up to 250 new jobs, sending cheer among workers who had become inured to regular news of job losses to India. The announcement was hailed as proof that Bradford remained an attractive location for the call centre business amid fears that some firms could choose to relocate overseas.'
