Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In order to prepare its future privatisation, Górnośląski Zakład Elektroenergetyczny in Gliwice, a power plant, is conducting a retructuring programme that plans the laying off of approximately 200 workers by the end of 2004. The redundancies are devised to achieve savings in production costs, as required by the new investor.
