Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Schneider, the electrical apparatus manufacturer, will shed 318 jobs in France before the end of 2005. The job reduction plan adds up to the one of last year, involving 600 dismissals. This time there will be no direct dismissals, but only voluntary departures, early retirement measures and social accompaniment for business start up. Most of the affected jobs are located in the regions of Paris and Grenoble.
