Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Duni has decided to issue layoff notices to 244 employees as a result of the planned closure or relocation of its production plant and a number of administrative functions in Halmstad, southern Sweden. This decision is part of Duni's effort to rationalise business and safeguard its long-term international competitiveness. MBL (Swedish worker participation legislation) negotiations with the affected unions will begin immediately. After completion, the planned measures are expected to secure yearly cost savings of some SEK 60 million.
