Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Italian multinational group De' Longhi, specialised in household appliances, employs some 5,900 workers worldwide, of which around 3,500 in Italy. It recently announced the closure of its plant in Ampezzo, which produces electrical coffee makers. The production will be relocated to its plants or suppliers in China.
