Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In the context of a comprehensive restructuring plan, Infineon Technologies, a worldwide operating concern specialised in semiconductor industry, aims at concentrating its operations by reducing the number of production sites. Infineon Technologies Austria, a well-performing subsidiary specialised in car electronics which is mainly based in Villach, will be one of the beneficiaries of this company strategy, in that the existing production site will be extended by a special research centre which is currently being erected. 270 additional workers are planned to be hired after the completion of the new building.
