Description
Deutz, the German engine manufacturer, is reported to be planning to cut between 150 and 500 jobs at its Mannheim plant, which manufactures large engines. The weak business with large engines led to this situation. The corporate press release published in May 2004 announced that 400 jobs could be shed. After negotiations within the company's works council, an agreement has been reached in November 2004 and fewer jobs will be shed. 330 will be axed whereof 180 on the site of Mannheim.
