Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
SNT intends to reduce the number of indirect (staff and management) jobs in the Netherlands by 215. Jobs will be shed at the head office in Zoetermeer and some staff jobs in the national branches. Most of the jobs will be lost by merging activities or by ending overcapacity, a limited number of jobs will also be lost through outsourcing.
SNT expects to apply mainly compulsory redundancies for around 145 employees before the end of the first quarter of 2004. The remaining 70 employees are expected to have left the company before the end of the third quarter of 2004, partly through natural wastage. SNT is discussing with unions and OR concerning the corresponding social plan. SNT is committed to guiding employees from job to job as much as possible, to that end SNT is already negociating with Randstad Mobility Services.
