European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Management has announced the suppression of 90 jobs on the 600 at the technical services provider specialised in the development, building and maintenance of ships and platforms.
This means a new loss for the industrial employement in the area of Rotterdam. The crisis in the shipbuilding sector is extending to the depending companies providing technical services. Discussions between trade unions and management will take place in order to set up a social plan but the FNV union hopes that there will be no direct dismissals.
