Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Dutch group, Getronics, announced on June the 17th 2003 a restructuring plan affecting 1,200 jobs in Italy, the Netherlands and other countries.
On June the 24th 2003, Getronics reviewed the number of jobs affected by the restructuring to 1,400. 600 jobs are dismissed in Nethelands, 550 in Italy and the rest will be dismissed on other countries where the company is operational.
This restructuring plan represents a total cost of 60 millions euros and must be effective by the end of the year.
