European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
1250 jobs will be dissmissed in the run of the summer. In the last months of 2002, 458 jobs were cut by natural retirements, and were not reoccupied.
Two weeks after the annoucement date, 1700 employees had offered voluntary retirement. The management has not commented how this will influence the number of redundancies. Some of the 'volunteers'will be regarded as natural retirements, and others were among the original 1650. They had the choice to resign themself of being dismissed.
