The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
HSBC plans to move 4,000 call centre and back office jobs to India, Malaysia and some in China. The jobs would be transfered over the next 2,5 years. The reason behind this reorganisation is to remain competitive. These job losses must be added to the 1,400 ones announced in July 2003.
