Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
One hundred jobs are to be created in an investment by US company Allied Computer Services (ACS). The firm is to open an outsourcing and support centre in Mahon on the outskirts of Cork city, supporting European markets. Recruitment of key staff, including systems engineers and administrators, is under way and the operation is expected to be functioning fully within three years.
