Description
The Dutch flag carrier KLM catering unit, KLM Catering Services (KCS), will cut 100 of its 1,600 jobs, trade union De Unie said on 28 April 2003. All catering companies in the aviation sector face difficulties due to airlines' cost reductions. Demand for catering services on planes has decreased after the emergence of many budget airlines. De Unie official Michel Rog called for KLM to reduce temporarily working hours in KCS and avoid layoffs.
