Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
LM Glasfiber produces wings for windmills. In December 2002 LM Glasfiber dismissed 137 employees, in March 2003 70 employees, in May 450 jobs and in October a further 80. The reason is a recessive market in Germany. Unions and Public Employment Service are informed and work together in finding other jobs or training programmes. The number of 3100 employees mentioned (hereof 2340 in DK) was the number employed in December 2002 when the redundancies started.
