Description
Vendex KBB is restructuring its subsidiary Vroom & Dreesman. At least 12 of the 17 supermarkets should be closed, and 1,815 jobs on the 8,500 employed by V&D should be lost.
This is part of the Vendex restructuring programme suppressing in total some 2,300 jobs on the 14,000 employed by Vendex.
On January 31 2004, 1,590 jobs have already been suppressed from the 1,800 announced in September. According to a spokesperson for the company, some 2,700 rather than 2,300 employees could be affected by the restructuring. A lot of part time jobs will indeed be shed to reach the number of 1,800 full time equivalents.
