European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The job reductions at Guinness will take place in the sales, marketing and support area. There will be 100 direct dismissals in the Irish Republic, and 35 in Northern Ireland. In addition, 35 workers in the Irish Republic will be re-deployed elsewhere, and 10 in Northern Ireland.
The company has attributed the job losses to a worsening business environment in the alcohol drinks market.
