Description

Of the 234 job reductions at Waterford Crystal, 129 will affect temporary workers on short-term contracts, as well as 105 voluntary redundancies drawn from the permanent workforce.

The terms of the voluntary redundancy arrangements will be 6 weeks pay per year of service, inclusive of statutory entitlements. The company has attributed the redundancies to a slowdown in demand in its critical US market.
