European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
In the framework of its Europe wide restructuring plan, France Télécom announced a social plan affecting 8,800 jobs in France. The job cuts will mainly be achieved through early retirement (8,000) and contracts coming to an end (800). At the same time, 1,400 jobs will be created within the research and development, sales and IT departments.
