Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The negotiations have been successfully concluded with the environmental authorities, the green light has been given to the "Linz 2010" investment programme. Voestalpine will be spending around 2 billion euros on expanding the Linz site in two stages, making it into one of the leading steel centres for the European automotive industry. 1,000 new jobs will be created in Linz.
Voestalpine declared during the negotiations that they would accept additional environmental conditions. These will for example involve new, improved foundry shop dust removal installations for the three old blast furnaces and an additional secondary dust removal installation in the melting shop.
