Description
Independent News and Media owns newspapers in England, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. In England, it owns the Independent, the Independent on Sunday and the Belfast Telegraph. Sir Tony O'Reilly (the company's owner)announced a £38 million restructuring programme affecting 600 employees worldwide. This represents a 5% cut in the total workforce. The cuts are to take place in the clerical and back-office activities. The company has already sold its regional papers in London.
