Description
Matsushita Electric, which trades as Panasonic, announced that it intended to halt production of televisions and set-top boxes in Cardiff by the end of this year, with the loss of some 600 posts. The company blamed 'increasingly intense competition from global manufacturers and sharply falling prices'. Unions believe that the Cardiff jobs are to be exported to the Czech Republic.
