Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Canadian train and aircraft manufacturer Bombardier announced that it will close a railway car factory in Halle-Ammendorf by the end of 2005. The closure, which will affect 700 employees, is part of a major restructuring of the company's rail division that will cut around 6,600 jobs - 1,500 of them in Germany - and shut down seven production plants across Europe.
