Description

The 150 job losses at Phillips' plant in Dublin followed a decision to move back office operations to Poland. Phillips said lower costs in Poland were impossible to ignore and wages were half those in Ireland. The Dublin operation provided Phillips' consumer electronics division with various accounting supports. Staff have been offered redundancy payments of 8 weeks pay for each year of service, which is at the higher end of redundancy settlements in Ireland.
