Description
The redundancies will occur in Lucent's Dublin offices at Cherrywood. It is understood the troubled US multinational will still employ approximately 350 workers in Ireland, who are predominantly employed in a second site in Blanchardstown, also in Dublin. The redundancies form part of an attempt to cut overheads in Ireland by 25%, which is related to the continuing problems the electronics and technology sector is facing worldwide. It is understood that some workers may have the opportunity to redeploy elsewhere, either to the Blanchardstown office, or to Spain and India.
