Description
Bäcker Lampe GmbH & Co. KG, a family-owned German bakery chain, will cut around 40 jobs as part of its insolvency proceedings.
In June 2026 the company filed for insolvency due to high costs and a difficult economic situation. The cuts are driven by high energy, raw material and labour costs, as well as competition from discount retailers.
Three stores have already closed, with a further twelve closures planned in subsequent phases. This means that almost one in three of the company’s branches will close. The closures will also directly affect employees: according to the company, around 40 jobs are to be cut, with direct dismissals accounting for the majority.
The company employs 292 people across Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt and Saxony.
