Description

Lidl, a German discount supermarket chain, has invested €420 million across the Munster region of Ireland, creating more than 500 permanent jobs in its new distribution centre at Little Island and across newly opened and redeveloped stores. The expansion reflects Lidl’s confidence in Cork and Munster, strengthens regional infrastructure, supports local suppliers, and will serve customers for many years to come.

About 250 of the new positions are based in County Cork, mainly at Little Island, while the remaining jobs will be distributed across Munster’s 14 planned stores and 10 redeveloped sites. Lidl employs more than 6 300 people in Ireland, operating 192 stores, a head office in Tallaght and multiple distribution centres.
