Description
Norwegian, a Norway-based airline, plans to dismiss 125 employees at its Copenhagen base: 55 pilots and 70 cabin crew. This represents around one-fifth of the approximately 630 flight crew in Copenhagen. As of October 2026, it is unknown when the dismissals will take effect, though the company aims to conclude the process quickly.
The company cites insufficient winter demand and seasonal fluctuations in Copenhagen, while denying financial difficulties.
The job losses have been announced as dismissals, but their final number and form depend on the outcome of the collective redundancy consultations.
Consultations with employee representatives began on 19 October 2026, with three meetings scheduled. The union Flyvebranchens Personale Union (FPU) has demanded that the company mitigate the consequences for its members.
