Description
Carrefour Polska, the Polish subsidiary of the French retailer Carrefour, will make up to 210 employees redundant at four stores in the Bemowo shopping centre in Warsaw, Sieradz, Olsztyn and Bełchatów. The company notified the district labour office in Warsaw on 10 September 2026, and the process is due to be completed by December 2026.
The company cites expiring leases and the persistent unprofitability of the stores, which recovery plans did not reverse, as part of a transformation plan launched in early 2025.
Some employees will be offered transfers to other Carrefour stores or new roles within the company. Consultations with trade unions concluded on 30 September 2026.
Carrefour Polska operates more than 700 stores in Poland.
