The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
OP-Pohjola, a Finnish financial services group, announced cooperation negotiations that could eliminate up to 554 posts and establish approximately 277 new roles across its insurance and retail banking operations. The negotiations cover approximately 2,340 employees.
Insurance negotiations began on 6 October 2026 and retail banking negotiations are scheduled to begin on 12 October. Both are expected to last at least three weeks.
The changes reflect shifting customer behaviour, increased competition and regulatory changes affecting the division of work between central functions and local cooperative banks. Tasks previously performed centrally have returned to local banks. The new roles would be offered to employees at risk of dismissal.
OP-Pohjola employs approximately 15,000 people.
