Description
Moldtecs, a German manufacturer of plastic components for the automotive industry, will cut around 300 jobs by the end of 2027. This restructuring will affects its sites in Sonneberg and in Bad Harzburg. The plant in Had Harzburg will close down completely.
The layoffs occure due to insolvency proceedings. Moldtecs is facing a declining demand and high energy costs.
Around 180 jobs are lost in Bad Harzburg while around 120 will be layed off in Sonneberg.
The company has around 580 employees. Therefore more than hals of its employees are affected by the cuts. The plant in Sonneberg will continue operations while the plant in Bad Harzburg is closed down.
