European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Mubea, a German automotive parts supplier, announced the reduction of approximately 200 positions at its Daaden/Weitefeld plant in Rhineland-Palatinate. The cut is set to conclude by the end of 2028.
The restructuring responds to changes in customer purchasing decisions, heightened cost pressure, cost-increasing EU regulations, US tariff impacts, and a strategy to strengthen competitiveness through automation, digitalisation and the use of AI-supported processes.
All affected staff are concentrated at the Daaden/Weitefeld site. 200 out of 600 employees at the site will be layed off. The company has announced that the layoffs will be carried out in a socially responsible manner through severance and bridge pension programmes. In addition, the company searches for job opportunities in its other locations that could be filled by the affected employees.
Mubea employs roughly 17,200 people worldwide across 70 sites. Mubea has about 4,500 employees in Germany.
