European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
IMS Gear, a German gear and transmission specialist headquartered in Donaueschingen, announced the elimination of up to 300 jobs across all its German sites as part of an extensive restructuring program. The cutbacks target employees in Donaueschingen, Villingen-Schwenningen, Trossingen and Eisenbach. The company aims to conclude negotiations with the works council by year-end 2026 and implement the new structure at the beginning of 2027.
The decision follows a structural crisis in the automotive industry marked by falling sales.
IMS Gear will close its plant in Donaueschingen, shifting production to Villingen-Schwenningen and Trossingen.The company has pledged to engage constructively with its works council, seeking socially responsible solutions.
IMS Gear employs around 1,500 employees in Germany and 2,900 worldwide.
