European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Allison Transmission, a US-based manufacturer of vehicle transmission and propulsion systems, announced the transfer of production activities from its Sommariva Perno plant in Piedmont, Italy, to its Rivoli facility, affecting 180 production workers. The restructuring plan was communicated to employee representatives in September 2026.
Trade unions Fim-Cisl, Fiom-Cgil and Uil have opposed the plan and organised industrial action, including an eight-hour strike on 17 September 2026, while calling on the company to open negotiations on alternative solutions to maintain production and employment at the Sommariva Perno site.
