Description
Daimler Truck, a German automotive company, announced the closure of its Lisbon technology centre tb.lx, resulting in 100 job cuts.
The affected unit is the digital services hub that supported connectivity and software development for the company's trucks, located in Lisbon, Portugal. The decision was framed as a strategic shift to focus more intensely on Daimler Truck's IT strategy, rather than a response to financial distress or market downturns.
Employees were informed of the decision during a company meeting and will receive transition support, including compensation upon termination. The centre's operations will continue until 31 March 2027.
